December Update 2

While in the Bay Area visiting family we got to house sit a house where nothing had been changed from the original 1950's decorating. The bathrooms were the most entertaining part of the whole house. On the left is the "naked lady" wall paper featured in the only bathroom with a shower, and on the right is the lovely orange plaid bathroom. We were greatly amused by the bathroom decor!

After being in the Bay Area we saw our friends the Walkers again in Sacramento (we'd stopped over on the way down too). There we celebrated Mums birthday and all of us Walker and Cone "kids" and some Walker grandchildren had a grand day of hanging out together.

Daniel, Leah, Sam, Polly, Ellen, Andrew, Sara, Jacob, Molly, Sally, Tyler, Polly and Scott.

On our 10 hour drive home, Tyler captured this picture of Mt. Shasta.
Pretty good for moving at 70 miles per hour, huh?

December Update

Here's a brief recap of the past three weeks.

First, we started off with a banger of a stomach flu. What made it even more fun is that we were supposed to be getting ready to go to California the next week and finish up Christmas stuff. Let's just say that a lot of Christmas shopping happened in California and so far this is the first year we've never put up Christmas lights. We did manage to get a Christmas tree though, and only because our neighbors graciously let us have one from their plot. The Christmas tree selection committee finished in record time, as it only consisted of Andrew, Daniel and Jacob. They were the only ones well enough at home to get it.

Here's Daniel the next day putting on Christmas tree lights. By that time Andrew had succumbed to the flu. And as I stated in our Christmas letter, the background sounds did NOT consist of softly playing Christmas music.

We also celebrated Tyler's 20th birthday. The offspring went and saw Voyage of the Dawn Treader in theaters to celebrate. We also gave Tyler a Settlers of Catan extension pack and played that in the evening.

Can't remember for the life of me what this is. I'm thinking a dress shirt?

The next week we headed to Sacramento and the Bay area to visit family and friends. One of our favorite-est places to stop on the way and let people stretch their legs is the Mt. Shasta Fish Hatchery. When we drove back home there was about 10 inches of snow everywhere.

Here we are having a A Week Early Christmas Dinner with our grandparents. Starting with Grandma and going clockwise around the circle, we have Grandma, Sara, Tyler, Scott, Jacob (doing his Ironman look), Grandpa, Andrew, Daniel, Mums, and Father.

To be continued, cause it's bed time!

Gutter cleaning

The other day while the Walkers were here I was called out to take a picture of Andrew and Daniel cleaning the gutters. They wanted their contribution preserved for all history.
Uncle Roger was kindly helping (by ladder) and declined to have his picture taken.

This photo reminds me of the chimney sweep song from Mary Poppins.
All they need are some brooms!
