The zoo and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy

On Wednesday of this week, we visited the zoo for a concert! Big Bad Voodoo Daddy was in town and our family loves swing music, so it was a fun time! We wondered around the zoo before the concert, but animals are smarter than us and most of them were taking their midday siesta during the heat of the day, so we didn't see a lot of action....but what little action we did see, I thought I'd share...

Mom peaks through the brush and pulls her "Mr. Livingstone I presume?" on Dad.

The giraffes were fairly lively.

We saw a rhino get out as it knew dinner time was coming soon!

The lion area was dead when it came to action, so we provided some of our own action. Here Scott demonstrates to Jacob  the proper way to look like a lion is going to eat you.

Sam Payne and Daniel arrive on the scene to watch.

And Jacob attempts his own stunt!

Jacob and I later wandered over to the penguins where we were fortunate to have a penguin deign to swim up to us.I think he as disapointed we didn't have any food.

Dad and I pose on the concert grounds. Dad had to turn his cap backwards so we could see his face!
It was a sold out crowd and it was packed!
Some of our friends from church who joined us... I think there were about 25 of us!
